Chile – We have heard that several members of the CLC team are making trips to villages on the coast of Chile that have been devastated by tsunamis following the recent earthquakes. Director Isaac Zuniga writes: “We have been amazed at the way the people, young and old, are receiving us. They are friendly and so appreciative of the small offering of literature, drinking water and food which we take for them. We trust that the Word of God that they receive will be read and obeyed, and that they may know the peace of God.” Praise the Lord for gifts coming in to CLC that will be used to help CLC Chile with repair work to the shop and warehouse properties and also towards ongoing relief work, both physical and spiritual.

Japan – This past weekend (March 19-22) Chiharu Kamiya, CLC Tokyo, attended the ANRC (All Nations Returnees Conference) with a book stall. Please pray for  the contacts he made. This conference is specifically held for Japanese people who have found Christ while living abroad. They have returned to Japan with a passion to reach their country with the Gospel. It is also a time to link these Christians with the Japanese churches.

Leadership Meetings – This past weekend (March 19-21) the UK Leadership Team met together for prayer, discussion and to make decisions. Please continue to pray as the need for more staff in a number of shops and departments is still urgent.
CLC Spain has Leadership Team and Managers meetings on Monday and Tuesday of this week (March 22-23). Neil Wardrope, who has been helping the warehouse team this week, and Gary Chamberlin (Regional Director for Europe) is joining them. Praise the Lord for news this week of a new manager for the Madrid bookshop, David Dieguez.

Sierra Leone – Please pray as a container of books, for school libraries in Sierra Leone, is due to arrive in the port of Freetown this week. It will then take up to three weeks to clear customs. Liz Patten, the Regional Director for Africa, and Petra Nemansky, the manager of the London bookshop, have coordinated this CLC UK project over the past year and they plan to be in Sierra Leone in April to help with the distribution of the library books.  Praise the Lord for this special opportunity and for the generous support of publishers and customers to make it possible. Please pray for the final and exciting stage of the process.
