‘Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tyre?’ Corrie Ten Boom

ColombiaNeil Wardrope, Gary Chamberlin and Graham Ince traveled on from CLC Venezuela to Colombia for three days last week. They were able to take part in team devotions and visit a number of the CLC departments. Elsa Maria Noy de Sanchez writes on behalf of the Colombian team to express their gratitude to God for the visit - which was an encouragement and blessing for all concerned!
Thank God too for the sales in January which were higher than expected. Praise the Lord for His goodness to CLC Colombia.

Hong KongCLC Hong Kong have a booktable at a missions conference this weekend (the Chinese New Year). Please pray for Casey Allison and Yu Wing over this busy period, especially as Mare Allison is currently visiting family, including a new grandchild, in the United States.

USAPraise the Lord - a customer in the Chestnut Hill (Philadelphia) bookshop accepted Jesus as his Saviour last week. This came, we believe, as a direct result of a renewed commitment to prayer by the shop team. Just recently the staff decided not only to pray at the start of the day but to pray together, with customers that want to join with them, at 3pm in the afternoon. This customer wanted to take part in the prayer time but he did not have assurance of salvation – praise the Lord that by the end of the prayer time he had committed his life to the Lord! He then bought a Bible, was given a complimentary copy of More than a Carpenter and was encouraged to join a local church fellowship.

VenezuelaTwo weeks ago CLC Venezuela celebrated the inauguration of their new headquarters and warehouse. It was a great occasion and we were able to thank God for His faithfulness in bringing them to this historic moment. The team was joined by five members of the International Office, representatives from several publishing houses and about 40 Venezuelan independent booksellers.
The warehouse is a wonderful facility for developing our wholesale distribution capacity in the country but please continue to pray for this project as there is still more practical work to be done over the next month or two to make it fully functional.

Extra information for praise and prayer - from the UK publisher Evangelical Press regarding the book Ultimate Questions by John Blanchard:
“We continue to publish in English, French and Russian and have employees in many countries translating and distributing the material.  Ultimate Questions however has now reached the milestone of sixty languages and around seventeen million copies. We are currently working on new versions in Xhosa, Amharic (Ethiopian), Afrikaans, Urdu and Arabic.  Recent languages include Punjabi and Malayalam.”
