CLC USA Headquarter in Ft. Washington, PA

This Week @ CLC - December 18, 2009
‘We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties’ Oswald Chambers

Colombia – “Please pray for direction, protection and wisdom for the National Director, the Administrative Committee, the shop managers and heads of departments as they meet for a time of prayer and planning this weekend (18-20 December). May all the decisions taken be according to God’s perfect will and may He be given the honour and glory.
We are thankful to the Lord for His provision so that we can refit two of our shops, in Medellin and the centre of Baranquilla, hopefully early in January. We appreciate your prayer support as we see these projects through. ” Elsa Maria de Sanchez

Iran - Although we do not work in Iran we can be praying about the lack of Christian literature in the country. The following is from a prayer guide called ‘Iran 30’.
“It is illegal for the church in Iran to print or sell Persian Christian books. One would-be publisher was told by a government officer that anyone producing Christian literature deserves to be executed. Some try to photocopy material, others use the internet, but most books have to be smuggled into the country. The demand for Scriptures far exceeds the supply. An added problem is the shortage of literature in the Persian language. The Arab world has 10,000 titles to choose from, but Iran has less than 400. Children have under 20 Christian books.”

Philippines – The CLC bookshop in Karuhatan Road, like many others at this time of year, is very busy this month. Please pray for the staff as they are now keeping the shop open for eleven hours a day until Christmas. CLC Philippines also has a special sale on until the end of the month, and are holding a lot of extra booktables in different churches.

USA – Shop hours are extended and special book sales are also taking place in CLC USA. Here are some prayer points from Director Dave Almack. The Friday referred to is December 18th.

1. Our Midnight Gladness sale in Northfield, Moorestown and Chestnut Hill on Friday night from 8-12pm
2. Our Morning Glory Sale in Center City from 7-9am on Friday
3. For strength and stamina for our retail team mates as we have extended hours in our stores and lots of customers to serve.
4. Pray for our editorial and publishing team as we work to get four new books prepared to be sent off to the printer in the next few weeks.
